Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Clara Ebert Christensen, 101, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017, in South Jordan, Utah. Clara was born May 13, 1916, in Granite, Utah, to Otto Hugo and Ruth Thomson Ebert.

Clara graduated from Jordan High School and the University of Utah. She served an LDS mission to the California Mission. Clara married Keith Bird Christensen on June 10, 1949, in Granite, Utah; solemnized January 16, 1963, in the Manti Temple. They made their home in Richfield, Utah, where they raised five children. He preceded her in death April 9, 1991.

Clara worked for Utah Power & Light as a home economist for 20 years, traveling to schools, churches and civic groups giving cooking demonstrations. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many different callings and enjoyed working in the Manti Temple. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and quilter, enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, and was the best ‘grandma great’ ever.

She is survived by three of her five children and their spouses: Mike (Joyce) Christensen, South Jordan; Kaye (John) Niles, Delta; Sue (Dan) Mecham, South Jordan; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchilden; brother, Carl Ebert; brother-in-law: Bill Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by her daughters: JoAnn Christensen and Diane Collier; parents; brothers: George Ebert, Glen Ebert; sisters: Blanche Smith, and Eldora Ebert; great- grandson, Jonathan Niles; and great-granddaughter, Dawson Christensen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West, in Richfield, where friends may call from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
