Chuck Robert Swinger
Richfield, Utah
Charles "Chuck" Robert Swinger, 73, son of Joseph Fred Swinger & Bonnie Ann Carlson passed away unexpectedly February 17, 2012. Born in Missoula, Montana, June 21, 1938, Chuck was a patriotic son of the American West. He spent his life serving his greater family—his country, as a Marine who solemnly swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. He served with honor, courage, and commitment his entire life to fulfill this promise with integrity and fidelity.
Chuck loved fishing, camping, marksmanship and all creatures great and small. He was a craftsman who reveled in creating things with his hands and by the sweat of his own self-reliant efforts. He was a portrait artist in his younger years and also enjoyed the sports of fencing, backpacking and mountain climbing. He was a philosopher who relished a heated political debate.
Chuck met his wife, Teresa Robinson, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He loved her unconditionally. Even in marriage Chuck served his country by supporting Teresa in her passion for educational excellence. He was her tutor, her strength, her Knight in shining armor. Together they loved their cats and dogs and shared their passion for philosophy, literature, and the great outdoors. Chuck had many friendly acquaintances around the world but mostly enjoyed the love and respect of a few precious friends, his independence, and above all, his freedom as a resident of Sevier County. He will be greatly missed. Semper Fidelis.
