Chiquita Nan Blackburn Anderson, 82, passed away July 16, 2019 at her home in Central Valley. She was born June 13, 1937 in Mutual, Utah to Alton Byron and Hattie Avona Grange Blackburn. She married Irvin Dean Anderson, December 19, 1954 in Sunnyside, Utah. The marriage was solemnized January 17, 1959 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death November 29, 2009.

Nan was a youth counselor where she loved working and helping troubled youth. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she and her husband worked as an ordinance workers in the Manti Temple. Nan also enjoyed rodeo and was affectionately known as everyone’s "Rodeo Grandma". She also worked along side her husband in their shoe and leather repair shop. Nan loved to be in and direct plays for road shows and high school drama programs. For many years she choreographed promenade dances in Randolph, UT. Dean was the love of her life and she was always humble and appreciative everything he did for her. She always thought her family was her greatest legacy and greatest accomplishment.

Survived by her children: Kelly (Coreen) Anderson, Annabella; Karen (Bob) Hart, Central Valley; Kevin (Lisa) Anderson, Annabella; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in law Launa Blackburn.

Preceded in death by parents; husband Dean; siblings Gary (Renae) Blackburn, Gay Bishop, Kit Blackburn, Kimball Blackburn; great-grandson Bray Jade Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the Central Valley 1st Ward Chapel where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
