Cherril Ogden

January 16, 1925 — April 4, 2013

Cherril Payne Ogden, 88, of Richfield, Utah, passed away April 4, 2013, in Richfield. She was born January 16, 1925, in Koosharem, Utah, to Elwood Thomas and Myrle Hunt Payne. She married Darwin Kay, July 1,1946, later divorced. She married Garth Ogden, March 20,1959 in Richfield. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, December 1, 1962. He preceded her in death June 16, 1992.

Cherril was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She was involved with the local and state Farm Bureau; was a longtime committee member of the Sevier County Dairy Princess Pageant. Cherril loved Monroe Mountain, Fishlake and home. She loved music and poetry and shared with everyone.  She was the "queen" of scrappbooking, her family will always cherish her scrapbooks, they all said she invented scrapbooking.

She is survived by her children Catherine (Robert) Bawden, Hanna; Geraldine Bagley, Cedar City; Darwin (Coleen) Ogden, Gunnison; Kevon (Jessica) Ogden, Taylorsville; Dora McKinlay, Glenwood; Ellen (Charles) Jenkins, Nephi; Garth "Tooter" (Dede) Ogden, Richfield; Marian Dimick, Salina; foster son, Felix (Lena) Yazzie, Phoenix, AZ; 33 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Evon (Billie) Payne, Monroe; Dick (Joline) Payne, Monroe; Emelie (Ross) Christensen, Richfield; Tom (Merrily) Payne, Joseph; Mike (Unsil) Payne, Monroe.

Preceded in death by parents, husband, Garth; sons-in-law, Robert Cheshire, Tony McKinlay, Dall Dimick; brothers and sisters: Rona (Dell) Naugle, Donna (Gayle) Parker, Harry (Joann) Payne.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Crimin and the staff and management of the Richfield Care Center.

Funeral services will be on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield East Stake Center (800 N. 500 E.) Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Stake Center on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
