Carolyn was an active and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the following capacities: Nauvoo temple missionary April to November 2011, 14 years at the Manti temple, organist – in multiple wards, church literacy missionary, family history library and more.
After their retirements she and Paul moved to their “Happy Valley” and “Happy Hunting Ground” in Koosharem, where they lived until Paul passed away in 2019. Carolyn remained in Koosharem with her amazing forever friends and neighbors, whom she absolutely adored, until April of 2022 when the colder climate, elevation and distance from medical services became quite problematic. She made her final move to Mesquite, Nevada where she found a beautiful new community of friends at Mesa Valley Estates.
Her family would like to express their eternal gratitude to the Porter Ave family, for the love, laughs, tears and support, and to all of her Koosharem”ites” for their love, support, and friendship. Koosharem was a little slice of “Heaven on Earth” for Carolyn and Paul. The love, care, concern, compassion and service that they received while living there was nothing short of miraculous. We would also like to recognize the residents and staff of Mesa Valley Estates, all of whom are priceless forever friends. Those who cared for Carolyn in her final days were “Angels among us”. Our sincerest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Mesa View Regional Hospital in
Mesquite, Nevada, the staff at Omnia Care Home Health and Hospice in Mesquite, Nevada and especially to St. George Regional Hospital and their entire staff who made her last week an absolutely beautiful and peaceful experience.
