Carolyn Cropper

Central Valley, Utah

Carolyn Jean Vance Cropper, 77, reunited in Heaven with her husband on Monday December 30, 2013. She passed away peacefully at the St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born February 19, 1936, in Mesa, Arizona, the firstborn of Osbourn and Mable Vance. She married Richard "Dick" Neal Cropper, December 26, 1952, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised two sons, one daughter, and later adopting their granddaughter. He preceded her in death, August 20, 2010.

In nearly 58 years of marriage, Carolyn enjoyed the gifts of being a devoted wife to an honorable United States Veteran. Motherly merits came naturally and were all she ever needed for the job and duty she was blessed with.

Carolyn enjoyed cooking and baking alongside providing the care and nurture for her children. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a remarkable role model for her children and grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by children: Rick Cropper, Central Valley; Randy Cropper, St. George; Lisa (Randy) Hall, Taylorsville; Amanda (Edgar) Hurtado, Saratoga Springs; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Annette (Bruce) Michelle and Linda (Harve) Knoll.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Brock Riley Cropper; brother, Monte Vance.

Funeral services will be held January 3, 2014, in the Central Valley LDS Chapel where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery where two long loved companions were reunited. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina, and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
