Carol Diane Madsen

December 7, 1945 — April 6, 2016

Carol Diane Coons Madsen, 70, passed away April 6, 2016 at her home in Richfield. She was born December 7, 1945 at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City to Harold Charles and Carol Lurana Nelson Coons. She married David Hal Madsen, July 2, 1965 in the Manti Utah Temple.

Diane loved her family very much and despite many illnesses, tried to help them and others as much as she could. She loved teaching, family history, comedy and a great story. She brought these passions to her roles as a wife, mother, ward Primary president, scout leader and as a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

She was a strong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and followed it.

Diane was proud of her roots and always called Richfield home. She enjoyed building on top of the basement home her parents and brothers built turning this into a beautiful home for her family.

She is survived by her husband, David, Richfield; children: Stacia (Jordan) Shumway, Richfield; Steven Hal Madsen (Michelle Steiner), Moreno Valley, CA; and Michael David Madsen (Michelle Sproul), Las Vegas, NV; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Valerie Hodgson, Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Vicki Coons, OR. She is preceded in death by her father; brothers: Richard, Donald and Steven Coons.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield City Cemetery.
