Carol Jeanette Pierce Brown, 76, of Koosharem passed away July 13, 2014 in Provo from complications related to pneumonia. Carol was born February 24, 1938 to Don Carlos and Maybeth Ann Reynolds Pierce in Salt Lake City. She grew up in Salem, Utah, and attended Spanish Fork High School. In 1962, on August 24, she married Harlow Floyd Brown of Koosharem in the Manti Temple. The have two children Lezlie and Casey.
Following the vocation of mother and homemaker, Carol and family traveled and moved about the country in connection with Harlow’s employment with the military and government. They resided for longer periods in Provo/Orem and Hanksville, Utah, and Grand Junction and Denver, Colorado. In 1997 they retired to Koosharem to live in a home which they had built over the years. She and Harlow celebrated 50 years of marriage while serving as missionaries to the Navajo Nation in Sheep Springs, New Mexico.
Skilled in handicraft, Carol enjoyed sewing, quilting knitting, and tatting, and shared her talents with family, friends and charity. In December 2013, she completed a life-long dream to visit England, the land of her ancestry, accompanied by her daughter. Carol served in her church as a ward Relief Society president, an LDS Conference Center host for 6 years, a Manti Temple worker for 9 years, and a member leadership support missionary in Farmington New Mexico Mission for 1½ years.
Carol is survived by her husband, Harlow, Koosharem; daughter, Lezlie Wallace, Sacramento; son, Casey (Linnie) Brown, Lehi; granddaughters: Kylie and Inza; brother, Carlos R (JoLynne) Pierce, Denver.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Koosharem Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield from 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the church in Koosharem from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery.
