Carol Berthelson
Richfield, Utah

Carol Berthelson, 80, passed peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2022. Carol was born to Arnold and Deona Nielsen Dunn on December 24, 1941, in Richfield, Utah. She is the youngest of 4 siblings, Ferral (Clara), DeRae (Bill), Jetta (Don).  She grew up in Monroe, Utah where she graduated from South Sevier High School.
Carol married Gordon Berthelson on October 29, 1960, in Torrance, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. They have three children: Deniece Dumont (Travis), Eagle Mountain, UT; Mark Berthelson (Janice), Atwater, CA; and Paul Berthelson (Sanalee), West Jordan, UT; 14 grandchildren: Camron Jorgensen (Nicole), Jade Selander (Aaron), Aubrey DeVries (Matt Twing), Lara Hender (Mark), Adam Berthelson, Marie Green (Jake), Andrew Berthelson (Madelynne), Camille Robinson (Carter), Emma Berthelson, Rachel Berthelson, Sarah Berthelson, Taylor Berthelson (Chelsa), Emilee Hawkins (Porter) and Samantha Berthelson; 11 great-grandchildren: Brighton, Cayenne, Cruz,  Trey, Quinn, Henry, Elsie, Reese, Piper, Aaron and one on the way.
Carol was a licensed cosmetologist and a member of the Utah State Board of Cosmetology & Barbering. She was a teacher at Snow College where she loved working with students while sharing life experiences. More than anything, she enjoyed the comraderies and friendships she made while teaching.
Carol led a life of service; she held many callings in her ward, she particularly enjoyed her time serving in the Indian Branch. She also served her friends by styling the hair of their deceased loved ones. Carol and Gordon also loved their years of service as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple.
Carol and Gordon spent time in Parker Dam, CA and in their home in Yuma, AZ where she enjoyed the lower altitude and warmer weather. She enjoyed a variety of activities such as reading, writing, baking and staying connected on social media. Everywhere Carol went she made special connections with people that became life-long friends.
Carol will be greatly missed, but our memories of her legacy and traditions will stay with us forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Berthelson; grandson, Adam Berthelson; great-grandson, Cruz Jorgensen; siblings: Ferral (Clara) Dunn, DeRae (Bill) Darling; brother-in-law, Don Lampretch.
