Carla Grover Winget was delivered by her father in their family home in Parker, Idaho on July 3, 1934. Her parents were Cora May Tout and David Smith Grover. She was the youngest of 8 children and the only girl. On September 2, 1952 she and J Oscar Winget were married in the Manti Temple.
Carla and Oscar are the parents of 5 children: twins - Daniel and Richard, Reed, Dawn and Ruth. Richard and Reed died as infants. They also have 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Carla loved to learn and try new things. Some of her pleasures included: sewing, cake decorating, painting, putting puzzles together and making “Magic Wallets”. Reading palms, analyzing handwriting and amazing people with her magic wallets were fun ways she interacted with new friends. She played in a jazz band with her some of her brothers and was a church organist most of her life. Her life “career” focused on God, family, worship and service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, music and sharing love with everyone she met.
Carla, age 90, died at home on November 13, 2024. She will be missed. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23, 2024, 11:00 am in the Springville 2nd Ward, 1785 E 400 S, Springville, Utah.
