Carla Dean Hansen, also known as "LaLa" passed peacefully surrounded by her nieces and nephew on Friday, March 25, 2016 in Richfield. Carla was born on July 10, 1933, to Cyril Berdean Hansen and Helen Alene Martin in Richfield, Utah. Carla attended and graduated from Richfield High School. After graduation Carla attended LDS Business College and then returned to Richfield to work at the Richfield Bank for 5 years. In 1957 Carla was called on a mission to Northern California/San Francisco area and considers it as one of the greatest experiences of her life.

After serving her mission she moved to Salt Lake City and worked at First Security Bank for one year then moved to Provo and joined the staff at Brigham Young University in Admissions. She loved her job there and was sad when she retired but managed to meet monthly with her co-workers for several years. She served in many capacities in the LDS Church and her ward members were so kind and helpful after the passing of her sister, Charlene Hansen Brown. She wanted to be sure we thanked her neighbors who were always watching out for her bringing in meals, assisting her into and out of church, taking out the garbage, bringing in the mail, shoveling her walks and driveway and many other "honey-do" projects.

She was a second mother to her 4 nieces and 1 nephew: Linda Brown (Elden) Tervort, Patricia Brown (Wayne) Thomas, Kaye Brown (Brent) Ellis, Janet Brown Hunter and Kevin (Carrie Stoneman) Brown. She was also grandma to 17 great-nieces and nephews and 59 great-great nieces and nephews. Each held a special place in her heart and she loved remembering them on their birthdays.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, sister and her dog Lucky that she adored.

Carla requested that there be no funeral or viewing and the family is honoring her request. There will be a small family and friend gathering at the Magleby Funeral Home in Richfield, Utah, on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Internment will be at the Richfield City Cemetery.

The family extends their appreciation to all who have assisted with Carla’s care in any way. Special thanks to the staff at Seasons of Santaquin Assisted Living Center.
