Brent Avery

Annabella, Utah

Brent Steven Avery, 66, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 14, 2019 at his home in Annabella, Utah. Brent was a loving father, husband, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was born on January 8, 1953 to Ernest Nelson Avery and Nelda Ross in northern Utah.

He graduated from South Sevier High School. At age 19, on July 14, 1972 he married the love of his life, Shauna Jensen. Brent’s biggest dream in life was to become a father. When son Jericho and daughter Danielle arrived, he lived to give them the best possible life he could. He cherished his children and always spoke of how proud he was of them.

Brent worked hard to always make sure that his children had what they needed to accomplish their dreams by working as a corrections officer through the Utah Department of Corrections, where he retired.

After retirement Brent enjoyed doing yard work beside his loving wife and playing with his grandchildren. Brent loved being a grandfather, cherishing all his grandchildren and loved being "Papa." He gleamed when he spoke of his grandchildren as they brightened his world.

Brent was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and attended the Annabella 1st Ward.

He is survived by his wife, Shauna; son, Jericho (Destiny) Avery; daughter, Danielle Otrega; grandchildren: Neomi Avery, Lydia Ortega, Lucas Ortega, Landon Ortega, and Olivia Avery; brothers: Kenneth (Cindy) Avery and Scott (Lori) Duncan; sister, Jackie Fullmer.
