Bowdie A. Pollock

Tropic, Utah

Bowdie A. Pollock, returned home to his Heavenly Father and the loving arms of his Savior on December 22, 2017 at his home in Tropic. He was born on October 3, 1976 in Panguitch, Utah to parents, Lonnie A. and Cheryl Twitchell Pollock. He married Echelle R. Challis on December 12, 2012 in a place he loved, the red rocks of Kodachrome.

He began his life in the valleys, canyons and rims of the Colorado Plateau, sharing his knowledge of the area, going for walks alone or with those he adored where he developed a love and appreciation for the outdoors, rural life, and the lifestyle it brought with it. Hunting, hiking, trapping, fishing, snow shoeing, collecting artifacts and cowboying with his dad were some of the things he enjoyed. He treasured the solitude he found being outdoors.

Bowdie developed a love for the people of Scotland where he served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon returning from his mission, he obtained a bachelors degree from Utah State in Recreational Management. He worked many years for the BLM and Forest Service. His creative, beautiful mind started at a young age where he developed a love and passion for writing which he cultivated while receiving his education. He was passionate about the arts; especially creative writing, music, and literature. He was able to show his true self through his writings. He always wanted to be a writer, but what he didn't realize is that he was. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle and husband, who showed his tenderness in a quiet, loving fashion.

Bowdie is survived by his wife, parents, and siblings: Stonnie (Francine) Pollock, Cherrie (Aaron) Stewart, Samie (Klancy) Ott, Shayne (Klay) Chynoweth, and Kali (Brett) Baumgartner, nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew Lonnie Jace Chynoweth with whom he had a special bond.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 10:30 to 12:30. Burial will be in the Tropic Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
