Bonnie Dickinson Gurr

   Bonnie Kay Dickinson Gurr, 88, passed away September 11, 2023 in Monroe.  She was born July 1, 1935 to Otis Alonzo and Hannah Mattie Haslem Dickinson.  Bonnie was raised in Richfield with her brothers and sisters: Sheldon, Eldon, Darlene, Alta and Mary.       Bonnie met and married Kent Joseph Gurr of Sigurd in October 1954. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2015.  They moved to McGill Nevada and raised a family of 8 children: Steve, Sharon, Staci, Stanton, Susanne, Scott, Shawn, Sheldon.  As a mother and grandma to many grandchildren, Bonnie cared deeply for her family.  
    She is predeceased by her beloved husband Kent and son Scott. 
    She worked for many years at Head Start and had a great love of working and being with children.  She was a kind and loving person with many friends and a very giving spirit.  She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the community.  Bonnie enjoyed reading and volunteered at the McGill library. 
    On her recent relocation to her home town in Richfield, she was able to connect with her sister, Alta, and share memories of her childhood and simpler life exploring canyons and cycling along dirt roads with friends.
    In her own quiet way, Bonnie provided the emotional strength that guided her family in their formative years.  This strength was born out of a love of Christ and the values she lived by, including her concern for neighbors and service to others.   She was comfortable either surrounded by friends or in the company of family in whatever setting from picnic to family reunions.  
    She was loved and will always live in our memory as mom, grandma, sister or friend.
    May her gentle soul rest in peace.
