Bob Burke Robins, 85, of Salina, Utah passed away July 3, 2012 in Provo, Utah of natural causes surrounded by his family. Bob was born to Morrill and Nola Crane Robins January 9, 1927 in Salina, Utah. Bob married ReNonne Nebeker, December 27, 1950.
Bob served his country in both the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army.
On return he joined the American Legion. He helped build the legion building in Salina which is still standing. He was a member of the Salina Fire Dept., worked to remodel the fire station and served as Captain. He received his 60 year retirement pin in June of 2012.
Bob was active in the Riding Club and will be remembered for his Chariot races and his horse, Rock. He was very honored when selected for Grand Marshal of the July 4th celebration in 2001.
He worked with his father and brother Jack operating the Salina Auction and remained in the livestock business and was a successful cattleman and farmer the rest of his life. With the support of his wife they were the first in Salina to subdivide the land known as Sunnybrook Acres. Together they enjoyed traveling the world and settled in Yuma Arizona during the winter months for the past 25 years.
Bob’s journey through life was to serve his fellow men, his community and friends.
He is survived by his wife, ReNonne; children; Mike (Maryanne) Robins, Allen (Lois) Robins, Pat (Terri) Robins, Laurie Callioux (fiancé Troy Pollock), 13 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, siblings: Norma Martin, Gwen Martin, Ethel Rae (Calvin) Lindquist. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Beryle Mickelsen, Brooks Robins, Geraldine Herstad and Jack M Robins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Salina LDS Stake Center. Friends May Call at the Salina Stake Center Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery with Military rites by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Utah Honor Guard
