Betty Marie Larsen Johnson, 90, of Manti, Utah passed away peacefully on June 26, 2013, in her daughter’s home, due to natural cause’s incident to age.  She was born January 25, 1923 in Frederic, Wisconsin to Henry Lawritz Larsen and Anna Leah McFetridge.

She married her sweetheart, Bruce Johnson, January 6, 1943 in Hawthorne, California.  The marriage was later solemnized July 11, 1950 in the Manti Temple.  During WWII she worked in an aircraft factory in support of the war effort.  Later she moved with her husband to Oregon to participate in a family logging business.  She moved with her family to Manti, Utah in 1952 where she spent her life in service to her family, church and community.

Her family, her religion and country were her greatest devotions.  She earnestly sought to live the gospel of Jesus Christ as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many calling in the church both stake and ward.  She supported the Mormon Miracle Pageant for many years.  She worked in the Manti Temple as an ordinance worker.  She with her husband served an LDS mission to Minneapolis Minnesota.  She was patriotic and loyal to America and active in the preservation of our constitutional rights.  She donated a lifetime of service to selfless causes.  She taught her family by word and example the principles of devotion, love and service.  She enjoyed family gatherings, games, camping and her flower gardens.

She is survived by her ten children: Bonnie (Gene) Curtis, Payson, UT; David (Christine) Johnson, Hurricane, UT; Richard (Jean) Johnson, Mantua, UT; Barbara (Jimmie) Christensen, South Jordan, UT; Vickie (Jeff) Anderson, Ephraim, UT; Kathie Johnson, West Jordan, UT; Frederic (Joan) Johnson, Manti, UT; Maren (Joe) Chandler, Benjamin, UT; Michael (Kim) Johnson, Perry, UT; Clark (Jody) Johnson, Riverton, UT; 52 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings: Earl Larsen (Betty), Alta Hirsch (Curt), Mary Oxford and Robert Larsen (Hilde).  She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Johnson; her grand-children Emily Johnson and Ryan Anderson; both parents; siblings Don Larsen,  Jean Sanders (Arnold), Lyman Larsen (Shirley) and Glen Larsen (Marlene).  Funeral services will be held on Monday July 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti LDS Ward Chapel, 295 South Main.  Viewings will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church and also prior to services on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in Manti City Cemetery.  Funeral Directors:  Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
