Betty Lue Madsen DiNodica, age 79, passed away January 22, 2017 in Richfield, Utah. She was born December 16, 1937 in Monroe.
She was married to David DiNodica for nearly sixty years and had a son, Douglas, daughter-in-law, Devony and two grandchildren: Katelyn and Jacob. She was a teacher for 36 years in California, Idaho and Utah. If anyone loved their job it was definitely Betty. She often said that you may have a class for only a year, but you’ll remember that class for the rest of your life.
Betty was a quiet person who didn’t care for crowds. Her favorite activities were spending time with her son and grandchildren and relaxing with friends and family at their cabin on Monroe Mountain. She also loved reading, four wheeling, hiking, fishing and snowmobiling at Island Park, Idaho with the “Wild Bunch” (you know who you are).
She also loved to go long haul trucking in the summer with her husband for DP Curtis Trucking, and had many truck driver friends all across the country. Betty’s two best life long friends were Gayle Madsen Morgan and Arlene Tuft Lawrence. Two of her dislikes were politicians in general and “looky loos” slowing down traffic.
Betty donated her body to the University of Utah School of Medicine and she always elected to be an organ donor when renewing her drivers license. She like to say she would always know where her body would be if not her spirit, but would send a message if she found out.
