Betty Mae Anderson Cahoon, 87, formerly of Delta passed away April 8, 2018 in Monroe, Utah. She was born September 5, 1930 in Avon, Utah, the second of five children born to Marion Earl and Elizabeth Bankhead Anderson.

She attended school in North Logan, while she was in nursing school, she met then married Paul K. Cahoon, October 7, 1949 in Logan. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They moved to Delta where they raised their family. Paul preceded her in death September 28, 2010.

Betty worked at the US Post Office in Delta for many years as a mail carrier. Then was a telephone operator until that office closed.

She was an avid reader, excelled in handicrafts where she won many awards for her crocheting, quilting and oil painting. Many family and friends were "gifted" with her hand made treasures. Of the many projects completed, she was acknowledged for her crocheted hats that were placed worldwide through LDS Humanitarian Services.

Betty loved the history and the heritage of the local Native Americans. She and Paul spent countless hours researching their history. She was an avid member of the DUP.

Betty was an active member of the LDS Church serving faithfully in many capacities. After she moved to Richfield, she enjoyed visiting teaching with the sisters in her new ward.

Her greatest achievement is her family and was loved by them all. She often said, "Isn’t it time for you to go home now?"

She is survived by daughters: Kathleen (David) Thomas, Cheri (Don) Christensen, Maureen (Brett) Allred; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Brown; in-laws, Albert Waite, Trudi Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dennis Cahoon; grandson, Steven Thomas; great-grandson, Ryker Petersen; sisters, Colleen (Lenord) Ferguson, LaDawn Waite, Sheryl Anderson; in-law, Jerry Brown; niece, Malinda Brown.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff and residents at Monroe Canyon Assisted Living for the loving care given to our mother during her stay there.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Delta Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30.
