Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away October 18, 2013, at her home in Elsinore, a victim of brain cancer. She was 83 years old. She was born Burnetta Betty Barrett on November 23, 1929 in San Diego, California, the daughter of John M. and Marjorie L. Wilkinson Barrett.

Betty was a friend to every person she met and those who knew her loved her dearly. Prior to her retirement in 1984, she owned and operated a number of "Mom and Pop" restaurants in the San Diego area. She excelled in baking desserts, especially pies.

Betty was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and receive her blessing from Bishops Derek and Kevin Moore from the Elsinore ward prior to her demise.

In 2007, she joined the Richfield Elks and in the years following was awarded Elk of the year honors two times.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur D "Andy" Anderson; daughters: Charlayne Ann (Dale) Vest, Connie Marie (Jim) Haley, and Carolyn Marjorie Roseberry; step-son, William Anderson; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, with a second on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Ray Burris; older sister, Virginia Barrett Gomez.

Betty has elected to be cremated. A memorial service will be held for her on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Elsinore City Administration Building, 35 West Main, Elsinore. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cancer Society in Betty’s name.
