Bette Valene Shuffler, age 90, returned to loving arms of her Savior, passing away in Gunnison on July 21, 2015, with her daughter by her side. She was born September 8, 1924 in Ephraim to Franklin Leroy and Ruby Gladys King Jensen. She married Wayne Hershel Shuffler June 30, 1945 in San Bruno, California. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1954.
Bette worked at Snow College in the treasurer’s office for 28 years, retiring at the age of 62 to enjoy her life with family. She loved fixing up her home, spending time with her kids and grandkids. She had a great sense of humor always seeing the positive side of life. She had such a giving heart, thinking of others before herself. She has left a sweet imprint on all of our hearts and will be dearly missed by all.
As a family we wish to give special thanks to Golden Skyline Assisted Living, Mission at Community Living Center, Gunnison Hospital nursing staff and Dr Cary Judy for their excellent care, love and compassion.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hansen, Centerfield; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; her son Dennis Wayne; sisters: Phyllis and Ramona; and brother, Franklin Jr.
Graveside services and interment will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Ephraim City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary, 195 North 100 West, in Manti from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
