Bethea “Beth” Fay Johnston Edmonds of Richfield, Utah passed away March 16, 2025 at the Monroe Canyon Assisted Living Home in Monroe, Utah at the age of 85. She was born August 17, 1939 in Franklin, West Virginia and was the first child of the late Woodrow Johnston and Mary Alice Hartman Johnston.

Following graduation from Franklin High School in 1957, she worked the next four years for the CIA in Washington, D.C. That was before the CIA moved to Langley, Virginia. She then moved to Logan, Utah, where she worked for Thiokol Chemical Corporation for two years. She returned to Washington, DC, where she met Roy Edmonds and they were married July 25, 1964 in Franklin, WV. Bethea lived in Provo, Utah, Fort Collins, Colorado and Price, Utah before moving to Richfield, Utah in 1976. She started working for the Forest Service in Provo in 1965 and retired from the Forest Service in Richfield in January 2001.

It became her love and passion, and she was soon volunteering at the Richfield Family Search Center, until she was no longer able to perform these services. Bethea also loved to travel and was very fortunate to be able to visit her home and family in West Virginia and other areas of the country. She also had many adventures while on various cruises with friends, something her husband encouraged her to do before his passing.

Bethea is survived by her three sisters: Nina Dewey, Stephanie Ashcraft and Cathy (Larry) Armentrout; and a sister -in-law, Jalene Ivie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides, her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roy William Edmonds; brother, Bruce Johnston; brothers -in-law: Jerald Dewey, Judd Ashcraft and Terry Ivie; also, a niece and two nephews.
