Beth Sorensen
Aurora, Utah
Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Beth Jensen Kennedy Sorensen, 89, peacefully passed away surrounded by her children in her home in Aurora, on July 27, 2014.
She was born at her home in Axtell, on December 24, 1924 to Alonzo and Rhoda May Jensen. Beth was the third child of seven children. She grew up in Axtell. She attended school in Axtell, Centerfield and graduated from Gunnison High School. She married Verge Earl Kennedy on December 23, 1943 in Axtell. Their marriage was solemnized on May 2, 1964 in the Manti Temple. Verge preceded her in death on February 20, 1979. She later married Delile Sorensen on March 27, 1987 in Manti. Delile also preceded her in death on January 1, 2010.
Beth enjoyed playing guitar and singing with her sisters. She also enjoyed playing her harmonicas. In her earlier years Beth and her sisters made several vinyl recordings of their songs. One of the many things that her family enjoyed most was to sit together and listen to her play.
One of Beth's passions was to send and receive greeting cards of all varieties. She loved to camp, garden, and working alongside her husband on the farm. She was also very accomplished at crocheting and quilting. Her list at Christmas time was longer than Santa's. She was always looking for ways to share gifts of these talents and to bless other people's lives.
She is survived by her children, Madge (Charles) Black, Aurora; Randy (Veronica) Kennedy, Tooele; Jennifer (Kent) Frischknecht, Salina; Todd (Irene) Kennedy, Riverton; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter; brothers: Jay (Stella) Jensen, Axtell; and Floyd (Julia) Jensen, Logan; step-children: Randy (Andrea) Sorensen, Elko, NV; Linda (Harry) Kern, Centerfield; Karen (Mike) Tidlund, Redmond; Lee R (Janeen) Sorensen, Fairview.
She is preceded in death by her husbands; infant daughter Sonja; parents; sisters: Thelma Jensen, Afton Cooper, Rhea Alder; brother, Glen Jensen; and grandson Cody Frischknecht.
Although her life's travels never took her far for home she was most happy serving her family and friends.
