Bess N. Baker

Our sweet mother, Bess Nielson Baker, 87, passed away August 31, 2012 in West Valley City. She was born to George and Pearl Hawley Nielson, September 12, 1924 in Inverury (Central Valley), Utah.
She graduated from South Sevier High School. She married Floyd Baker, July 31, 1945 in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death September 8, 1998.
Bess and Floyd raised six children. Mom was a telephone operator and clerked at several stores, but mostly she was a homemaker. She retired from LK Pharmacy in Richfield, where she loved helping people and making the best Iron Ports at the soda fountain. She had a gift for helping people in need around the community. She was a member of the LDS Church.
She is survived by her children: Paul (Margaret), James (Michele), Don, Janene and Robert; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and a brother, Ned Nielson.
Bess is also preceded in death by her parents; son, George (Judi); grandson, David Baker; brothers and sisters, Keith, Raymond, Helen, Faun and Joyce.
The family extends their heart-felt thanks to Hunter Hollow and Rocky Mountain Hospice for the excellent and loving care of our mother for the past two years.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery.
