Becky Ann Hummel Ross, 68, passed away at her home in Richfield on March 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 24, 1948, in Richfield. Her parents were Mary Evlyn McMillan and Dean Bell. After her parents’ divorce, her mother married C. Floyd Hummel who adopted and loved Becky as his own.

Becky lived in eight different states and in Bermuda before graduating from high school in Quanah, Texas. After graduating from high school, Becky and her family returned to Richfield in 1966. She attended College of Southern Utah, now Southern Utah University, where she majored in accounting.

On July 6, 1968, Becky married the love of her life and her eternal partner, Craig C. Ross, in the St. George LDS Temple. Together they raised six wonderful children. Being a busy mother and business owner, Becky was an amazing multi-tasker. Taking care of her children and grandchildren always came first. She was also constantly preparing detailed construction bids, picking up and delivering fencing supplies, visiting construction sites, preparing payroll and hiring employees. Becky also had a catering business on the side. Despite her busy schedule, Becky never missed a play, recital, ball game, wrestling match, baptism, or any other special event where a child, grandchild, brother or sister were participating. She always said that she could get more done between 2-4 a.m. than the rest of the day.

Becky’s family was her pride and joy. Her six children: Angel (Darrel) Roundy, Monroe; Coquette (Chet) Torgersen, Koosharem; Dusty (Becky) Ross, Sigurd; Misty (Kevin) Knutson, Richfield; Brandi (Jason) Olsen, Sigurd; and Rocky (Marnie) Ross, Richfield; were her life’s work. In addition to her six children, Becky is survived by 34 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all that she had. Even as Alzheimer’s made it increasingly difficult for her, being surrounded by family was her favorite place to be.

Becky was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served faithfully wherever she was called. One of her favorite assignments was assisting the compassionate services in the Relief Society and serving others during their time of need.

Becky and Craig started and operated Sevier Valley Fencing, which later became B and K Construction. Sevier Valley Fencing and B and K both enjoyed significant success and growth under their leadership. In preparing for operating the business on a wider scale, Becky became the first female to earn her contractor’s license in state of Nevada.

In addition to her father, Floyd, husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Becky is survived by a sister, Jacky (Terry) Mascher, St. George; brothers: John (Sheila) Hummel, St. George; Mac (Kamie) Hummel, Tulsa, OK.

She is proceeded in death by a granddaughter, Maycee; mother, Mary; father, Dean; nephew, Brady; niece, Hanna; and parents-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 149 North 400 West. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. As Alzheimers slowly took Becky away from us, she forgot more than she remembered but she will always be remembered in our hearts.
