Barta Peterson Bird, 77, passed away on August 11, 2014, in Provo, from injuries sustained in an accidental fall. She was born May 30, 1937 in Gunnison. Barta graduated from Gunnison High School. She later served in the Great Lakes Mission for the LDS Church. She and Tom raised seven children in Ogden, Utah. She was active in the LDS Church serving in leadership, teaching, and music callings. Her passion and love were her husband and family. Selfless and sweet are the best words to describe Barta.
