Barbara Cook
Monroe, Utah
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Barbara Ann DeLany Cook, 87, passed away July 4, 2020 in the comfort of her home in Monroe. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 12, 1933 to Charles and Hildred Nielsen DeLany. The DeLany family relocated to southern California, where she eventually met the love of her life Dan Noble Cook. Dan and Barbara were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple on September 5, 1953. Together they raised four children: Julianna, Curtis, Aaron and Dana in Glendora, CA. In 1989 they retired to Monroe where she was an active part of the community and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings in Primary, Relief Society, and was a temple worker for 12 years.
Barbara devoted her life to serving her family. She spent her life teaching her children and grandchildren about the most important things in life. She dedicated a lot of time to family history and genealogy work and shared many stories. She enjoyed traveling, baking, sewing and winning at card games. She was always the happiest when she was near her family or off on a new adventure with Dan. She was always filled with excitement with each new addition to the family and she never missed a birthday. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Julianna Cook, Diamond Bar, CA; and sons: Curtis (Cheryl), Apple Valley, CA; and Aaron, Monroe; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan; daughter, Dana; sister, Bettie, brothers: Charles, Richard and Dennis; and her parents.
