Aura Christine Denton, 59, passed away Tuesday January 1, 2013 in Sterling, Utah. She was born October 29, 1953 in Murray, Utah to Donald and Carolle Plouf Denton.

Aura graduated from Manti High School, then went to Stevens Henager College of Business. After receiving her business certification, she attended Dixie College in St. George Utah and there she took business classes and was on the college rodeo team. Aura married Gregory Croshaw May 1, 1974 and was later divorced. She worked at Wolfe’s Sporting Goods in Salt Lake City as a buyer for a number of years. Aura began battling a life changing illness at this time which continued until her death. In 1997 Aura returned to Sterling to live with her parents.

Aura had many friends through the years and was the life of the party. She cared for her aging Mom and did so lovingly and faithfully for 12 years. She was willing to provide service to anyone and spent many years working and caring for the horses, dogs and other animals on the farm she grew up on. Her dear old English setter Bounder was with her to the end. Aura had a special relationship with her nephews who lived in Sterling. Feeding and keeping track of them was a job she loved and took very serious. Aura had a love for learning and could often be found studying thick books.

Aura loved her family and was wonderful at keeping track of each of her siblings. She would call just to check on each of them regularly and to let them know that she loved them. She had a kind and giving heart to all she knew.

Aura is survived by her siblings: Candace Denton, Celeste Denton, Cozette [Doug] Ludvigson, Guy [Peggy] Denton, Chris [Loretta] Denton, Cindy [Dale] Sampson, Tim [Diane] Denton, Glade [Cheri] Denton, Mary [Glade] Nielson and Craig Denton; 46 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Sterling Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
