Morris Arnell Burr, 78, passed away August 1, 2016 in Panguitch, Utah. He was born April 15, 1938 in Austin, Utah to Morris Howes and Ruth Annetta Barney Burr. He married Iris Stock, June 25, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
Arnell was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in his callings.
To support his family Arnell moved his family with him wherever he found his work. He started working in a sawmill at Ruby’s Inn for Oral Zabriski in 1955. He worked for Pearson & Crofts Sawmill in Panguitch and as a carpenter on the Glen Canyon Dam. He was a test driver mechanic for Ford Motor Co in Kingman, AZ, then back to the Kiabab as a timber cutter out of Panguitch. He attended Utah Tech and became a heavy duty diesel mechanic. He worked in this field for the next 31 years. Their family has lived in Knoxville, TN; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Green River, WY; Elko, NV; then finally home to Cannonville.
He is survived by is wife Iris of Cannonville; children: Richard Arnell (Anne) Burr, Queen Creek, AZ; David Mahlon Burr, Roy; Dirk Aaron (Marcy) Burr, Mesa, AZ; Pamela (Pat) Walker, Bayfield, CO; Natalie Coleman, Farmington, NM; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings: Keith (Julie) Burr, Kenneth (Cindy) Burr, Mary (Fred) Taylor.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Roselynn; parents; siblings, Carolyn, Shirley Ann, Jimmy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cannonville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Cannonville Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
