Arlo Udell Jensen, 86, peacefully passed from mortality on June 21, 2016 in Gunnison. Arlo was born on February 26, 1930 in Centerfield, Utah to Bertral Clarence and Blanche Francis LaVona Beck Jensen.

Arlo attended school locally in Gunnison, graduated from Snow College and received a bachelor’s degree in Education and Business from Brigham Young University. He married Doris Mellor of Fayette on May 26, 1950 in the Manti Utah Temple.

Arlo owned and operated Valley Builders, a lumberyard, hardware store and commercial construction business, as well as Valley Furniture, a furniture and floor covering store in Gunnison, Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in various callings including a full time mission with his wife in the Indianapolis Indiana Mission.

He is survived by his eternal companion Doris; children: Brent (Shannon), Larry (Debbie, deceased), Curtis (Danelle) and Denise (Richard); 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Devon; daughter-in-law, Debbie; grandson-in-law, Stevie Bamgartner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Gunnison Stake Center, 80 West Center. Friends may call at the stake center Sunday from 6-8 p.m. or Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Gunnison Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the general missionary fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in lieu of flowers.
