Arden "Chuck" Chanrtrill Leatham

Manti, UT

Arden "Chuck" Leatham, 80, of Manti, UT passed away on June 18, 2020 at his home. He was born on January 30, 1940 to Lawrence & Annis Chantrill Leatham in Shelly Idaho and was raised in Blackfoot Idaho. Chuck grew up on one of the best potato farms in the area. From an early age he learned the value of getting up at four a.m. to change sprinkler pipe and many other farm chores such as bailing hay, driving tractors from the age of seven, and when the work was done come in and have a hearty breakfast.

At the age of 17 Chuck joined the United States Air Force where he served for 22 years. He married his wife of 58 years, Alice Beckner, in November 1961 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Chuck served in the Vietnam war and was deployed three times. After twenty two years in the Air Force he retired to Colorado Springs with his family. They lived there for five years and then moved the family to Manti, Utah. There were several short term moves to other states but they always came back to Manti. It was truly their home. Chuck worked for the USDA as an inspector for 13 years. Between the Air Force and being a USDA inspector he had a variety of jobs such as security guard, Kman sciences (doing government experiments), college student, and department manager at the Moroni Turkey Processing Plant. Chuck loved The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several different callings.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Leatham and their seven children: Russell, Roger, Alan, Kay, Marvin, Janice, Kevin, and their 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

Cremation services have taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
