Annette Colburn

Monroe, Utah

Annette Gail Colburn, 78, passed away March 9, 2017 in Richfield after a brief illness. She was born May 8, 1938 in Hanford, California to Dwight James and Fayrene Jessie Stice Colburn.

Annette’s father worked in pipeline construction and his work eventually took the family to Buena Park, California. In Annette’s early childhood she accepted the Lord and each Sunday she and her two sisters would sit in Sunday School and listen to stories of Jesus. Annette loved the stories and songs she learned. The prayers she learned were the same she prayed throughout her life.

Annette had an opportunity though Special Ed to complete her 11th grade of high school. After her high school years Annette remained at home in the loving care of her mother and father. She enjoyed the pace of home, the berry and vegetable garden and her father’s beekeeping hobby.

Annette loved her family with all her heart and as her siblings married that love included each new member of the family. Nothing gave Annette more pleasure than the arrival of a new baby. Each one received Annette’s special attention and grew up basking in her love. After Annette’s father died in 1970, Annette and her mother moved to Utah. These were happy and contented years where Annette and her mother settled into a peaceful routine.

Annette joined the LDS Church and Senior Citizens and made many friends whom she enjoyed making daily calls to. The family appreciates all the friendship Annette has received from those friends and more recently from the friendship and care she has been given through Life Included and the Richfield Care Center.

Annette is survived by her sisters: Vivian (Jess) Travis, CA; Nancy (Lawrence) Morales, Monroe; 7 nephews, 6 nieces and 7 great-nephews and 6 great-nieces. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ainlee James Colburn, Jack Allen Colburn; great-nephew, Jesse James Hanson-Colburn.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. Following the services, burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
