Anis Brown Shippen

Anis “Ann” Larson Brown Shippen passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her home, after experiencing a series of mini-strokes. She was born January 27, 1921 in Grover, Wyoming to Gus T. and Lovisa Hepworth Larson.
Ann married William Kenneth “Ken“ Brown , September 9, 1940 in Salt Lake City. Ann and Ken lived in Star Valley, Wyoming, where they raised their 3 children. They moved to San Diego in the early 1960's. He passed away, October 27, 1980.
She married Thomas Reed Shippen, March 30, 1988 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple, they resided in El Cajon, CA. He passed away on March 19, 1996. In 2005, she built a home and moved to Centerfield to be closer to her son.
She loved reading, caring for her flower garden and yard, embroidering, and she spent many hours quilting for the Gunnison Valley Senior Citizens. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully as an ordinance worker in both the LA and San Diego Temples.
Her survivors include her son, K. Rex (Kathy) Brown, Centerfield; daughter, Kathleen B. Sadler, Krum TX; daughter-in-law Janene Brown, Manhattan, MT; brother Earl Larson, Grover, WY; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, with 3 more on the way.
Preceded in death by parents; son, Kent; sisters: Ruth, Iris, and Zola; brothers: Myron and Don.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield LDS Ward Chapel, 210 South Main, where friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside services and interment will be held in the Etna Wyoming Cemetery, Monday August 27, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
