Amy Bogh Gregerson passed away peacefully on November 18, 2018 in Orem, Utah at the age of 93. She born September 2, 1925 in Mayfield, Utah to Hans Christian Hansen and Nellie May Lyman Bogh. She married Juel M. Gregerson on June 29, 1944 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death December 12, 1999.

Amy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout her life. She mostly enjoyed playing the organ and piano as accompanist in church.

Amy grew up in Mayfield as the tenth child of eleven siblings. She worked on the family farm with her older siblings. Throughout her school years, she had the lead in many musicals. Words (reading and spelling) were her strong point. Numbers – not so much. She also participated in the girls’ sports programs. She worked a short time in Salt Lake City after graduating from Manti High School but decided city life wasn’t for her. She returned to Mayfield and found work in Manti.

Immediately after she and Juel were married, they moved to Kansas following his military assignments. From there they lived in Arkansas, and Texas. After his discharge from the military, they settled in Gunnison, then moved to Christianburg, and worked a small farm for 16 years. The acreage was sold to a neighbor but they remained in their home because they loved the quiet and beauty of the valley.

Amy enjoyed having a houseful of family. Her home was overflowing with grandchildren every Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and birthday. She was always willing to help her children and grandchildren.

Amy loved music. Besides sharing her singing talent in school musicals, she performed with the Mayfield Double Trio for many years. She loved this group of ladies and the opportunities they had to perform not just in Mayfield but in the surrounding communities.

After Juel passed away, Amy stayed in her home in Christianburg until medical reasons made it no longer possible for her to live alone. She moved to the Summerfield Assisted Living Center in Orem, Utah in June of 2012. The staff there became her second family and they loved how pleasant and happy she was. To many, she was their adopted grandmother.

She is survived by her four children: Karen (Dennis) Ardin, Murray; Shauna Gregerson, Eagle Mountain; Roy (Arlene) Gregerson, South Jordan; Lynda (Les) Seckletstewa, Eagle Mountain; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and all 10 of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Ward Chapel where friends may call for a viewing from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Mayfield City Cemetery.
