Alvin "Al" Loy Adams, age 86, passed away December 16, 2014 at his home in Lancaster, California. He was born December 22, 1927 in Santa Monica, California, a son of Hyrum Loy Adams and Geraldine Augusta Rice. He married Patsy Jean Jensen, May 13, 1946 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized Apjril 16, 2005 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

Al graduated from Richfield High School in 1946 and embarked on his career as a business owner and an auto/diesel mechanic. Al and Pat moved to California for the last time in 1956 and there made a wonderful life together. Al enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, helping others, and making things work. He loved his family and most of all enjoyed being with them. He was also a member of the Elks, Moose, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis International, and Long Beach Boating Club.

Al is survived by his wife, Pat, of Lancaster, CA; son, Richard (Cathy) Adams, Monroe, UT; daughter, Terri (Patrick) Wick, Lancaster, CA; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Wynonna Quintana and Edith Pierce, both of Ogden, UT and Ilene (Mitch) Johanson, Salt Lake City, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Othela Gurr Adams; and brother, Samuel Adams.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ward Chapel, 3140 W. Avenue K, Lancaster, CA, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Additional services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be held in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
