Alvareen Durgan

Alvareen Peugh Durgan, age 88, a longtime Manhattan resident, died November 4, 2016, at Golden Skyline Assisted Living Center in Ephraim, Utah. She was born October 24, 1928, in Tarrant County, Texas, the daughter of James Andy and Viola Mae Phillips Peugh.
Alvareen was the valedictorian of Whitt High School and graduated from the Fort Worth Secretarial School. She was a secretary/bookkeeper and later on a wonderful homemaker.
On August 21, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, she married Jack Clyde Durgan. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Dorothy Peugh, Leonard Bill Peugh, Edward Peugh, Fay Peugh, David Dennis Peugh, and Ruth Peugh Munn.
Survivors include her daughter: Jan (Lyle) Chamberlain, Ephraim, Utah; siblings: Lavene Carroll, Christeen Downs, Eula Mae Smith and Virgil Peugh; grandchildren: Jennifer Schmidt, Judy Sorenson, Jill Chamberlain, and Jacki Klaassen; and great-grandchildren: Krissa & Lily Schmidt, Sarah & Anna Sorenson, and Jack & Joe Klaassen.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 3:00 at the Valley View Memorial Gardens Cemetery east of Manhattan.
