Althea Atkin Utley, 99, passed away January 3, 2013 in Richfield. She was born October 21, 1913 in Beaver to Heber and May Smith Atkin. She married Clynn Utley January 22, 1934, in Beaver, Utah. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Althea worked as a Pacific Trails Seamstress for 16 years. She was an active member of The Church of Latter-day Saints and a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Much of her spare time in the winter was spent making quilts and crocheting beautiful afghans and in the summer gardening and always bottling in August. Everyone loved her beet jelly. Her family was her life and it brightened her days when they came to visit.
Survived by children: Douglas (Lori) Utley, Pleasanton, CA; Marilynn Dickson, Springfield, MO: Diane Sutteer, Joseph; Gay (Sue) Utley, Pahrump, NV; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Kent) Carter, Minersville, sister-in-law, Cloe Utley, Sevier.
Also preceded in death by parents; brother, Alton; sisters, Arvella (Harold) Gayle, Lottie (Roy) Hunt, Thelma (Web) Barber.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Joseph Ward Chapel in Elsinore where friends may call on Saturday from10-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
