Alma J. Christensen
Richfield, Utah
Alma Joseph Christensen, 65, of Richfield, peacefully passed away November 22, 2013 at his home with his sweetheart by his side. He was born April 16, 1948 in Richfield to Reed and Barbara Levie Christensen. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Boyter, June 21, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized on their first wedding anniversary in the Manti LDS Temple.
Alma was extremely skilled with construction and heavy equipment. His expertise was an essential part of many large projects around Utah which have become landmarks, including: the Fish Creek and Shingle Creek bridges along I-70 in Clear Creek Canyon, Snow Basin Ski Resort, and I-80 at Lake Point.
When his health declined, he thrived with his family around him. He enjoyed hobbies like leather work, fly-tying, remote control airplanes, Willy's Jeeps, gardening, goats, camping, firearms, reloading, guitar, banjo, crafting cedar canoes and seeing that the family home was built to perfection.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children: Corwin L. (Sandy) Christensen, Junction; Daryl R. (Valerie) Christensen, Richfield; and Alicia C. (Justin) Gleave, Richfield; eight grandchildren; siblings: DeVon (Elberta) Christensen, Central Valley; Duane (Bonnie) Christensen, Spring City; and Vanetta Brinkerhoff, Wayne County.
Alma was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sylva Mae Christensen.
