Allen Poulson
Richfield, Utah
Our dear, sweet dad, Allen Ray Poulson, 92, passed away September 5, 2016 in Monroe. He was born September 30, 1923 in Richfield to Arthur Milando and Diantha LaVern Barrows Poulson. He married Joy Christensen, January 11, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death September 8, 2005.
Dad was a high priest in the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent and in the scouting and mutual organizations. Dad was always very proud that he still had a current temple recommend, thanks to Bishop Corey Winkel.
Dad moved many houses from the Tooele Army Depot for homes in the Richfield area. He also moved cabins from Fish Lake lake shores and houses that were built at Sevier Valley Trade Tech School. Dad worked and managed the Sevier Valley Oil North Sinclair Station for 23 years. It was the first gas station people came to when they came to Richfield. And later Dad worked for UDOT in the warehouse, until his retirement in 1992.
He leaves his family with wonderful, happy memories of camping, working hard and many hunting expeditions, vacations to Yellowstone and Colorado.
Dad was in the Redview Riding Club where he was president and obtained and moved a club house for them to meet in. He loved his horses and his family very much.
The family extends their deepest thanks and appreciation for the loving care Dad received at Monroe Canyon Assisted Living. Dad considered you his second family.
He is survived by his children: Shanna R. Peterson, Richfield; Joyce (Leslie) Henrie, Glenwood; and Tex Allen Poulson, Pleasant Grove; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and expecting the first great-great-grandchild in January.
Also preceded in death by: parents; son-in-law, Leon R Peterson; siblings: Euarta (Louis) Villotti, Alta (Les) Curtis, Heber (Neta) Poulson, Eldon Poulson, Vernon Poulson, Clint Poulson, Don (Leora) Poulson, Harvey Poulson.
