Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Alice Carol Hansen Wayman, will always be remembered in our hearts and minds as a special angel who touched many lives.
Carol, age 75, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017, in Taylorsville, UT, with her loved ones gathered around her, after her third valiant battle with cancer.
Carol was born July 24, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mary Ann Butler and Hyrum Dee Hansen. She was the third child in a family of 11 children. She was married to Thomas G. Wayman on June 30, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 56 wonderful years.
Carol spent her growing up years in Lehi and Castle Dale. She spent most of her time raising her family, teaching them patience, love, faith, hard work, and service. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities and auxiliaries including 2 years on the Young Women General Board, and 11 years as a temple worker in the Manti, Utah Temple. She was also very involved in her community and served as an officer for many years in the Lady’s Literary Club and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Carol was known for her countless years of service making thousands of dresses and quilts for the LDS Humanitarian Aid project. She spent her life serving and helping others, uplifting them with her incredible positive attitude. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, oil paint, draft house plans, cook, bake, organize, travel and spend time with family.
Carol left behind her beloved sweetheart Tom and a great legacy of six children: Sheri (Kent) Whitehead, Gerald (Shauna), Lynn (Jenny), Greg (Lisa), Karen (Gabriel)Dayley, Steven (Jamie). Carol has 28 grandchildren and 23 great-children. She is also survived by her siblings; Deanna Rice, Marilyn Hansen, Richard , David, Glen, Niels, Elizabeth Ward, Rebecca Vandesluis She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gail Peterson and Jane Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti 8th Ward, 295 So. Main. Veiwings will be held at the ward chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery.
