Alice Nielson Washburn, 92, of Monroe, passed away on January 7, 2014 of natural causes.  She was born March 17, 1921 in Koosharem, UT to Joseph E. & Ethel Nielson.  While working at the turkey plant in Richfield she met Hoover Washburn.  They were married March 17, 1940.
Alice had many ambitions in life; most of all in doing church work.  She was an active member and fulfilled many callings.  She was faithful to the end.  She enjoyed being a member of the Monroe Literose Club and also being involved in the D.U.P.  Hoover and Alice served three missions together; North Dakota, Texas and Cove Fort.  Alice was the mother of four children: Fran (Kathleen) Washburn, Monroe; Charlett (Darel) Crofts, Richfield; Patsy Washburn, Salt Lake City; Camille Crawford, Tooele.  She is survived by her children, 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Hoover on May 10, 2010; parents; grandson, Trenton Crawford;  and siblings: Le Nora Schaugaard, Vee Wilkinson, Geneal Ogden, Louine Bromley, Lincoln Nielson, Lea Lane and Jessie J. Nielson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th Ward Chapel.  Friends may call on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Magleby Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday prior to services at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in the Monroe Cemetery.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
