Alice “Bingo Babe” Sorenson Sorensen, 63, of Gunnison, UT and Beaver Dam, AZ, passed away October 5, 2012 at Gunnison Valley Hospital. She was born October 23, 1948 in Gunnison to Burdell and Annie Berneas Sorenson, one of ten children. Along with her companion, Lloyd Ewles, they lived in Beaver Dam during the winters and Burrville in the summers for the past 27 years.
Alice loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. If there is one thing to know about Alice, it is that she loved to play Bingo. She got her nickname, Bingo Babe, from her grandchildren after winning big one year. She also enjoyed going on 4-wheeler rides with Lloyd in the mountains near Burrville along with their spoiled pets, Pooh Bear and Tiny.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Sorensen, Salina; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Vernon Sorenson, Murray; Richard Sorenson, Bloomington, ID; Floyd Sorenson of Portland, OR; sisters: Arlene Petersen, Gunnison; and Carolyn Maus, Magna;
Preceded in death by parents; children: Jeffery Sorensen, Tammy Sorensen Seely; brothers: Carl Sorenson, Boyd Sorenson; sisters: Burdella Sorenson, Alline Motes; ex-husband Duane Sorensen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Gunnison Stake Center, 80 West Center, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
