Alice Elizabeth Chynoweth Ormond, 87 of Annabella, passed away August 22, 2016 in Monroe. She was born December 7, 1929 in Henrieville to Lawrence and Lavina Goulding Chynoweth. She married Reed Ormond July 3, 1946 in Las Vegas. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on November 4, 1978. Reed preceded her in death.
Alice was raised in Henrieville. She was full of fun, energy and enthusiasm. She left everyone feeling uplifted and smiling. She was creative, did sewing and all kinds of handwork. She loved to write poetry and her family’s history. She enjoyed genealogy and worked in the South Sevier Family History Library. She took delight in dancing and clogging, especially at the Old Time Fiddlers performances.
She is survived by children: Pat (Dianne) Ormond, Orem; Penny (Gary, deceased) Taylor, Bluffdale; Doris (Sheldon, deceased) Henriod, West Jordan; Rhonda (Michael) Peterson, Las Vegas, NV; 17 grandchildren and great-36 grandchildren; siblings: Eva Chynoweth, Jackie Fullmer and Lane Chynoweth, all of Ferron.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Lawrence Burton Chynoweth, Rose LaRee Pollock, Arthur V Chynoweth.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Annabella 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. or at the ward chapel in Annabella on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery.
