Alfy Baker Sharp, 84, passed away November 26, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born December 18, 1935 in Richfield to Alpheus Parley and Noreen Baker Sharp. He married Shirley Patterson in the Manti Temple, later divorced.
Dad graduated from Richfield High School in 1954. He joined the National Guard, serving in the 222nd Field Artillery Battalion, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.
An auto mechanic like his father, Dad first worked at Whiting Motors in Richfield, then moved his family to Las Vegas in 1966 where he worked at Red’s Transmission. Dad retired in 1997 after 43 years. In his retirement, Dad had a full auto mechanic shop at his home where he would fix anyone’s car for free.
While growing up, he loved to hunt with his brothers. The Sharps were a very musical family. Alfy had a beautiful base voice and was a member of the Mendelson’s Choir in Provo, Utah.
Survived by his children: Les (Sandy) Sharp, Brenda Stout, Judy Schachet, and Karen (Mike) Scaramuzzino; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Thoney Martin Sharp.
Preceded in death by his parents; sons-in-law, Russ Stout, Richard Schachet; grandsons, Rory Sharp, Joshua Scaramuzzino; siblings: Bernell Don Sharp, Lloyd Alan Sharp, Norma Noreen Penny, Jerold Lon Sharp.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Dad’s birthday, Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery with military honors by the Utah Honor Guard and the V.F.W.
