Alan LeRoy Peterson, 73, passed away on October 21, 2014 in Manti.  He was born July 18, 1941 to Ivan LeRoy and Ethel Larsen Peterson.
Alan grew up working hard as a farmer along side his father and younger brother, Steven.  He graduated from Sanpete High School in 1959 and served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Alan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He loved being outdoors, loved hunting, fishing, and enjoying the mountains. He will be remembered by many as a good friend and hard worker.  His family remember him as the best uncle ever.  Although he never married, he was exactly the kind of uncle his two nephews and niece needed after losing their father, his brother.  Alan continued being that wonderful uncle to his great nephews and nieces who all miss him dearly.
Alan is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Ann Peterson; nephews, Steven Larry (Peggy) Peterson, Brett Alan (Emily) Peterson; niece, Karen (Joel) Smith and all of their families, along with many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steven; grandparents and many cousins.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Manti City Cemetery.  Friends may call prior to services at the Magleby Mortuary, 195 West 100 North, Manti from 10:30-11:30 a.m.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
