Aileen Fuller

Phoenix, AZ

Aileen Mary Carter Fuller passed away early Friday, May 10, 2019, in Phoenix, AZ due to the effects of Parkinson’s disease. She is the daughter of Dorothy Louise and Reginald A. Carter. She was born on June 23, 1938 in Washington D.C. and grew up on F Street. She married Travis Fuller Sr. on May 5, 1956, they later divorced. Travis and Aileen moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1958. It was there that Aileen spent the next 60 years, raising her family, pursuing her hobbies, volunteering for her church and working in various clerical positions.

Aileen was an accomplished seamstress and cake decorator, creating many baby quilts and wedding cakes for family and friends.

Aileen was a fiercely independent, head-strong woman. She loved her family, hanging out with her grandkids, and was affectionately called "New Nannie" by her granddaughter Lauren. She enjoyed vacationing with family and friends, and get togethers with lots of food. She worked hard to slow the progression of her debilitating disease and supported Parkinson’s research and awareness activities.

She is survived by her children Travis D. Fuller Jr. (Julie), Monroe, UT; Julie A. Black, Regina C. Finley, and Edward F. Fuller (Cindy), all of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by grandchildren: Thomas Black, Joseph Black, Travis Fuller III, Troy Fuller, Kevin Fuller, Lauren Finley and Steven Hess; and great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Killian Black, Wyatt Black and Nadine Fuller. Aileen is preceded in death by her parents, step-parents, and ex-husband Travis.
