Margene Paul Dastrup, 79, passed away April 14, 2022 in Glenwood. She was born November 7, 1942 in Glenwood to Leland Loren and Christal Alverda Larsen Paul. She married Ralph Jay Dastrup on August 26, 1962 in Glenwood. The marriage was solemnized on March 21, 1998 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1999.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Margene loved to attend the temple and to study the gospel. She served a service mission at Cove Fort and devoted time to the Richfield Humanitarian Center. She served as a Relief Society president, and also served in the Young Women’s and Primary organizations.
Margene loved her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She wanted to spend all the time she could with them. She loved to sew, quilt, knit, and she was an avid reader. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She was a business owner—Images on Main—a women’s clothing store.
Margene was a kind and caring person who leaves an empty spot in many lives with her passing.
Survived by her children: Bardett Ralph (Nacole) Dastrup, Glenwood; Roxanne (Tracy) Nielsen, Richfield; Daphne (Russell) Thomas, Lindon; Jared Paul (Alisa) Dastrup, Glenwood; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother: Reldon (Joyce) Paul, Richfield.
Also preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Jay Eugene and Fern Stephenson Dastrup; grandson; Joshua Nielsen; siblings: Cleve (Mildred) Paul, Leland Paul, Shirley (Bill) Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Glenwood Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
