Joan Kotter

Joan Poulson Kotter, 91, passed away April 28, 2021 in Richfield. She was born February 28, 1930 in Richfield to Lyman and Anna Torgerson Poulson. She married John B Kotter on October 18, 1948 in Richfield. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. John preceded her in death December 9, 2014.
Working in her first job selling tickets at the movie theater, Mom met Dad. They enjoyed 66 years together. She graduated from Richfield High School. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she loved her ward family. She was a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers and was treasurer for the local American Legion post for many years.
Mom was a stay-at-home mother for many years. While living in Temple City, CA, Mom started working for Crocker Citizen’s bank and became the bank manager before retiring. In 1982, Mom and Dad moved back to Elsinore.
Survived by children: Tonja (Tony) Jacobson, Robert John Kotter; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by parents; daughter, Pamela Gladwell; siblings: Florence Johnson, Ted Poulson, Harriett Poulson, Darrell Poulson, Melvin Poulson.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation for Jason Okerlund for his loving care; and also the staff at Zions Way Hospice. To Byron and Rachael Blomquist at the Beehive Home for their loving care of Mom during her last years.
