Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle, Eugene Giles Gubeli, 82, of Centerfield, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015, in Gunnison, after a long battle with declining health. Eugene was born on January 11, 1933 in Barron, Wisconsin, the only child of Alois and Elinore Gubeli. He married Bonnie Mae Hansen Gubeli on January 10, 1958 in Centerfield, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Laie, Hawaii Temple, October 10, 1963.
Eugene is a veteran of the armed services serving 8 years in the Navy and then 3 years in the Army.
Eugene enjoyed the little things in life such as a good joke, westerns and great food. He loved to tinker with things, especially bicycles. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave him so much joy. He will be loved and missed very much.
Eugene is survived by his children: Blake (Susan) Gubeli, Centerfield; Brenda (Greg) Hendrix, Jasper, Georgia; Todd (Robin) Gubeli, Gunnison; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way, and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Mae Gubeli, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield 1st Ward Chapel, 210 South Main. Friends may call at the ward chapel Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery with military rites by the Centerfield American Legion Post #105.
